Commissioning Art Photography

By and large I work with Large Format [5"x4"] film in the landscape and still life photography genres and, while I have still some limited quantities of traditional silver prints left, I will in the future primarily work on producing archival inkjet pigment prints. Most of the examples shown here were shot on the now discontinued Kodak High Speed Infrared film, and printed on a variety of papers with the Lith* printing process. If you are considering a commission, I will be happy to discuss the options on an informal basis on the phone or in person or feel free to submit your initial questions via the enquiry form on the contact page.

*Lith Printing

Lith printing is a variation of traditional black and white printing; a normal negative is used, photographic paper is exposed and developed. The key is in the use of a dilute lith developer which causes both the exaggerated contrast and added colour in the print. I personally no longer use the technique but for those interested in learning more I have supplied some links to useful websites below.
